The band Metallica consists of four band members which are... James Hetfield (vocals and guitar) Lars Ulrich (drummer) Jason Newsted (Bass and Backup vocals) and Kirk Hammet (lead guitar). Lars formed the band when he had just turned 18 years old, the next step was to find other band members to play cover bands like Motorhead and Megadeath. Metallica are a Heavy Metal band that came out with a album in 1983 called Kill Em All with the number 1 hit Seek and Destroy and a great song called Whiplash which were both massive hits. After such a great debut album Metallica then made the amazing album in 1984 called Ride The Lighting with songs like For Whom The Bells Tolls and Creeping Death". Metallica then invented there own motto "No rules but Metallica rules. Metallica at this point had a massive amount of fans world wide. The album Ride The Lighting won the band it's first Grammy award. The band then worked on and recorded the brutal album in 1986"Master Of Puppets" for 1 year that had the songs "Battery" and "Master Of Puppets". A problem arises when the band's tour bus skidded on the ice in Denmark and killed the 1st bass player on impact. After a well earned brake the band then went about finding a new Bass player, and found Jason Newstead.
Looking back upon there success when he was still in the middle of the long career he had ahead of him the drummer recalls that know one that that this kind of stuff was going to happen to this band Metallica, and it did in a very big way. Metallica were one of the biggest bands in the Metal industry with the likes of Black Sabbath, Pantera and Motorhead at the time where also really big and going to do a whole lot bigger. Now we go to the album intitled ....And Justice For All....which had the first ever Metallica flim clip for the song One which was a song about a guy who went to a War and came back...but he had lost his arms and legs and all he wanted to do was kill himself but could not because he got his arms and legs blown off by a bomb. The next step was to go on a long tour around the world with the likes of Guns and Roses and Black Sabbath and they would make a killer in the money making. Metallica then played an amazing 3 song set at the Freddy concert witch was for the 1 year since the frontman from Queen died of aids. The concert included Extream, Guns and Roses, Black Sabbath and David Bowie.
